first_imgThe award ceremony “Marco Polo – famous travel writer” for the best journalistic tourist stories, which is presented for the seventh time, was held in the packed Great Hall of the Journalists’ House organized by FIJET Croatia (International Federation of Tourist Journalists) and the Association of Tourist Journalists HND.The first award “Marco Polo – travel writer of the year” was equally shared by Ivo Pervan for the photographic travelogue “Divota Biokova through the eye of the camera” and Miro Brankovic for the HRT TV series “In search of Marco Polo”, while among foreign journalists awarded the Spanish Maria del Mar Aguilo for the report “Moscow – Symphony of Colors”, published in the online magazine for tourism and gastronomy Coloralia.Receiving recognition for a photographic travelogue about the beauties and peculiarities of Biokovo, Pervan pointed out that the award belongs not only to him, but to a large number of people who work in photography in Croatia. “I have been all over the world and I can say that we live in one of the most beautiful countries, but also that it is nowhere harder to do photography than in Croatia. But, well, we won’t spread it further. ” He said Pervan called on journalists to write critically about the people who run Croatian tourism, because that is the only way it can progress, recalling the XNUMXs when the preconditions were created for today’s high numbers achieved by this segment of the economy.Davor Rostuhar won the second prize for outstanding contribution to the affirmation of travelogues and tourist journalism, and Tomislav Šikić, Slobodan Bukvić and Andrea Pisac Freškura won the third prize, while Paul Bradbury received the award for the best report on Zagreb on Advent 2016.
